Purpose:
To Compare the pachymetry results of Orbscan and pentacam with UltraSound(US) as the gold standard of pachymetry, in CCTs less than 540 microns as high risks of high IOP and evaluation of Pre and Post-Op PCI.
Methods:
In this cohort study 90 refractive surgery eyes with CCTs less than 540 microns measured with Orbscan enrolled. Pentacam imaging and US pachymetry, IOP non-contact tonometry with PT100(Reichter) Were done. C/Disc ratio was recorded and C/D > 0.5 was refered for visual field defect screening. 1 month after refractive surgery the patient’s IOP and US pachymetry were repeated and the new PCI was calculated.
Results:
Mean age = 28.02±6.15 yrs/old, M 20 (22.2%) and F 70(77.7%).Refractive surgery procedures= 38( 42.22% ) TS and 52( 57.77% ) standard, due to thin corneas. Correlation between the pachymetry results of orbscan-US and Pentacam-US: r=0.751 and r=0.889 respectively and so Pentacam results is more precise. Pre-op and post-op PCIs are meaningfully correlated (r=0.930). Visual field defect not detected in our patients.
Conclusion:
The pentacam results of pachymetry are more precise than orbscan and PCI is a better value than IOP in all patients.
