Purpose:
The impact of intravitreal injection of avastin in acute cetral serous chorioretinopathy and BCVA
Methods:
51 patients' with acute Central serous chorioretinopathy were randomly divided in 2 groups. These groups included groups under treatment with Avastin, placebo. Non-corrected visual acuity (UCVA) , Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), fundoscopy, and optical coherence tomography were done at first visit and then every 4 weeks for 12 weeks. Data analysis was done by SPSS
Results:
19.6% of patients were women and 80.4% of patients were men. There was no significant difference mean central retinal thickness (P>0.05) and in mean BCVA (P>0.05) between various groups at the initial and subsequent visits up to 12 weeks.
Conclusion:
Intravitreal Avastine had no effect on central macular thickness and visual acuity in patients' with BCVA≤5∕10.
