Purpose:
: to report clinical characteristic and multimodal imaging finding in a case of bilateral multifocal choroidal osteoma .
Methods:
Complete ophthalmic examination and multimodal imaging techniques including fundus autofluorescens(FAF), fluorescein angiography (FAG) , indocyanine green angiography (ICG), orbital computerized tomography(CT) scan ,B scan ultrasonography and enhanced depth imaging - optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT) imaging was performed in a 32-year-old woman presented with decreased central visual acuity in the right eye.
Results:
Best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was 2/10 in the right and 10/10 in the left eye. Bilateral multifocal posterior pole orange subretinal elevated masses were seen in funduscopy. Tumors showed mild hyper- autofluorescence in FAF, variably hyperfluorescent in FAG , hypofluorescent in ICG. Calcified portions of osteoma were remarkable in EDI-OCT in both eyes, associated with subretinal fluid in the right eye due to choroidal neovascularization (CNV). Intravitreal avastin was injected in the right eye for CNV treatment and BCVA increased to 5/10 after one month.
Conclusion:
Bilateral multifocal choroidal osteoma have characteristic sign at multimodal imaging techniques and help to diagnosis it and CNV.
