Purpose:
the main aim of this randomized double blind clinical trial is comparing the effect of propofol and Isofluranon IOP during anesthesia for spine surgeries in prone position.
Methods:
72 patients 19-84 yo without any history of eye and corneal disease randomized by random block to the groups of Propofol and Isofluran as the maintenance anesthetic agent.
IOP is measured by using Tonopen AVIA Reichert inc Depew NY USAbefore and after induction of anesthesia and positioning and then after every half an hour during surgery.
Results:
meanIOP was 18,7mmHg reduced after induction of anesthesia to 10,7mmHg and after intubation increased to 17 mmHg gradually returned to 18,2 and during operation in prone position in Isofluranegroupe it increased to 21,5 but in Propofol it remained at 18,5,the differences is meaningful
Conclusion:
meanIOP was 18,7mmHg reduced after induction of anesthesia to 10,7mmHg and after intubation increased to 17 mmHg gradually returned to 18,2 and during operation in prone position in Isofluranegroupe it increased to 21,5 but in Propofol it remained at 18,5,the differences is meaningful
