Purpose:
Study of relationship between ganglion cells complex and central corneal thickness in normal eyes (emmetropic , myopic and hyperopic eyes).
Methods:
The study population didn’t have any ocular pathology or surgical history. After Complete examinations of optometry, Pachymetry pattern of RTVUE OCT in central corneal thickness (CCT) and Ganglion Cells Complex (GCC) were measured. 180 eyes (64 emmetropic eyes ,70 myopic eyes, 46 hyperopic eyes) in young subjects(18-35 year-old) were randomly selected
Results:
Mean CCT 539.36 +/- 36.37 microns. emmetropic eyes had thinner corneas ( emmetropic eyes: 536.14 , myopic eyes: 539.67 , hyperopic eyes: 543.28 microns). Hyperopic subjects had thinner GCC thickness (myopic eyes: 103.81, emmetropic eyes: 106.50, hyperopic eyes: 103.46). Univariate analysis revealed that GCC is positive correlated with GCC in myopic eyes and inversely correlated hyperopic eyes
Conclusion:
Our finding demonstrate that GCC might have inversely correlated with CCT in hyperopic eyes . GCC had inversely correlated with amount of hyperopia and direct correlated with amount of myopia . CCT was no significant correlated with refractive erro
