Purpose:

To design and construct Anaglyphic Near Phoria Test (ANPT) and compare the results with common near phoria tests ، alternate cover tests and Maddox wing

Methods:
|
ANPT was designed and built computerized to be easily used portable. To compare the results of this new test with common near phoria tests, ANPT were applied for measuring heterophoria on 48 healthy optometry students and no heterotropia. Then the subjects were tested by Maddox Wing test and alternate cover test in a random order.
The agreement between the two methods was done using Bland-Altman Method.

Results:
|
The mean±SD of outcome measures of heterophoria by three methods of the Maddox wing, alternate cover test and ANPT were 3/83 ± 2/95, 3/26 ± 2/72 and 4/43 ± 3/59 respectively. 95% limits of agreement between Cover test and ANPT was 1/16 ± 1/41 and mean difference between Maddox wing and anaglyphic test was 0.57 ± 1/17.

Conclusion:
|
ANPT is more esophoric than alternate cover test and Maddox wing test and its results are closer to maddox wing.
