Purpose:
To comparison the visual and refractive outcomesof one segment FA-ICRS Intacs SK implantation in the treatment of keratoconus (KCN) and post Lasik ectasia (PLE).
Methods:
In this retrospective comparative study, 1 segment of Intacs SK ICRS was implanted using femtosecond laser in eyes with stage I- III KCN andPLE. Visual, refractive and corneal tomography changes were analyzed over a 6 Month.
Results:
36 eyes with KCN and 19 eyes with PLE that received 1 segment Intacs SK wereevaluated At 6 months the SE decreased by a mean of 1.15 and 1.64 D, the mean Pre op LogMAR UCVA and CDVA were increased by .372 and .233 and .286 and .280in KCN group and PLE group respectively. K flat and K steep decreased by a mean of 1.08 and 2.14 D and 2.15 and 3.06Drespectively. The mean corneal power, anterior and posterior BFS, irregularity in 3mm decreased significantly. 94% and 100% of eyes gained 1-6 line of CDVA.
Conclusion:
Femtolaser assistedimplantation of one segment Intacs SK ICRS for the treatment of keratoconus and PLE patients was safe and effective, leading to significant improvement in UDVA, CDVA,and refractive error.
