Purpose:

Introducing a new and accessible psychophysical method for evaluating contrast sensitivity.

Methods:
|
Nowadays there are a considerable number of procedures for the purpose of measuring contrast sensitivity which psychophysical methods are the most common subjective method for measuring sensitivity. These tests measure contrast sensitivity through a specific and often limited number of spatial frequencies, a constant distance and with their own specific optotype, while this range is broader in Freiburg test.

Results:

There are various optotypes and in further directions with a variety of different levels of spatial frequency in Freiburg test to measure contrast threshold. The test run at different distances, far, near and intermediates allows too.

Conclusion:
|
The most important characteristics that distinguish Freiburg contrast sensitivity test from other tests are its high sensitivity, reliability and repeatability as well as other qualities such as its standard, new, accessible and affordable that the measurements include several important parameters such as visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, and so on.
