Purpose:
|
We describe here a case of a 43-year-old woman with a lesion that is compatible both clinically and histopathologically with conjunctival keratoacanthoma.
|
|
Methods:
|
The treatment given were excisional biopsy and amniotic membrane transplantation.
|
|
Results:
|
the outcome was a compelete clinical remission during the follow-up period.3 months.
|
|
Conclusion:
|
Conjunctival keratoacanthoma is rare and making a correct differential diagnosis between keratoacanthoma and squamous cell carcinoma is important. We recommend complete surgical excision, AMT and carrying out close monitoring after surgery due to possibility of relapse and covertion to squamous cell carcinoma.
